Install and open Magnet Response

Prepare a traceable copy of Magnet Response, place it on the SUSA workstation and review the licence before collecting from an endpoint.

Prepare a separate controlled location with enough free space for the selected profile.

Obtain Magnet Response

Open the Magnet Response download page and register for access.

Use the download link sent to the registered email address.

Download record

Record the download date, filename, version, source URL, licence conditions and integrity information supplied by Magnet Forensics.

Extract the utility

Download the self-extracting archive and extract it to:

C:\Tools\Magnet Response

If the extracted folder is named MagnetRESPONSE, rename it to Magnet Response for consistency with the SUSA tool layout.

Open and review

Double-click Magnet Response and review the end-user licence agreement before accepting it.

Before continuing, record the displayed version and confirm the intended case reference and output destination. Define the investigation question before selecting collection options.
