Install and Open ShadowExplorer

Use an isolated, authorised Windows VM. Record the download source, filename, version, retrieval time and SHA-256 before execution.

Retrieve and stage

Download the installer from the ShadowExplorer download page, verify it according to local procedure, and stage it under C:\Tools\ShadowExplorer.

Do not create or delete snapshots for this exercise

Installation authorises tool setup only. Preserve existing VSS state and record any unavoidable live-system changes.
