What ChromeCookiesView does¶

ChromeCookiesView supports browser forensics. In this guide, you will use it to identify a relevant cookie and explain why it does not prove deliberate navigation. Evidence and safety
Use copied profiles. Do not open recovered links or downloads on the analyst workstation. Record the input identifier, tool version, relevant commands or settings, time and time zone, output location, and any errors or limitations as you work.

How the labs complement this guide
The Interactive Lab is a safe browser simulation for practising the workflow and validation logic. The Full Lab is an independent exercise for an isolated, authorised environment. Confirm the installed tool version and expected output before relying on either exercise in a real case.
Accessing ChromeCookiesView in SUSA¶
ChromeCookiesView is an alternative to the standard internal cookies viewer of Google Chrome Web browser. It displays the list of all cookies stored by Google Chrome Web browser, and allows you to easily delete unwanted cookies. It also allows you export the cookies into text/csv/html/xml file.
Download ChromeCookiesView.
Move the downloaded zip archive to C:\Tools folder and extract the contents to C:\Tools\ChromeCookiesView. Right-click the ChromeCookiesView and select Run as administrator to verify it runs without an error. Chrome must be installed for the tool to display any data.
If Windows prompts that this application is malicious, click run anyway.
